Jocelyn Brumbaugh Shares Insights on the Changing Landscape of Law Firm Strategy with Bloomberg Law

October 3, 2019

Builden Partner’s founder Jocelyn Brumbaugh discussed the importance of partners understanding their firm’s long-term strategic plans with Bloomberg Law’s Big Law Business column in October.

Big Law Is Humming, But Collections Keep Tumbling

The article “Memo to Exiting Lawyers: You’re Not Part of the Firm’s Strategy” addressed the growing trend of groups leaving firms, whether it is the choice of management or the departing partners. Jocelyn discussed how partners should make a point of knowing where their firms are headed, even when the Executive Committee is tight-lipped.

“It is a rare firm that is going to say, ‘Starting tomorrow, we’re going to do this instead of that,’” Jocelyn said. “The ships don’t turn that quickly. But the information is there if you are willing to take a clear-eyed view as to where your firm is going.”

The article included perspectives from many other industry-leading law firm consultants. Big Law Business focuses on the business of law and reports on significant developments shaping how the largest corporate law departments and their law firms do business and share perspectives from contributors in the industry.
