Turning a New Brand into an Institution
Legal & Professional Services Counsel
When members of the legal marketing community wanted top-notch professional development and networking opportunities, they regularly turned to the Legal & Professional Services Council (LPSC) for best practices in marketing for law firms.
Founded in 2006 by Builden’s Jocelyn Brumbaugh, LPSC was supported by a Board of Directors made up of some of the most influential members of the legal marketing community.
Over the years, the LPSC board boasted members from firms including Baker McKenzie, Barack Ferrazzano, Faegre Drinker, Greentarget, GrowthPlay, Neal Gerber Eisenberg, Locke Lord, Michael Best, Kirkland & Ellis, Sidley, Skadden, McKinsey & Company and many others.
Throughout its 15 years, LPSC provided a platform to discuss important trends and issues facing marketers, law firms and their attorneys. The 501©(6) directly aided the development of more than 5,000 individuals by offering quality programming, mentorship and a high-end job board, holding more than 100 events for its 600 members.
LPSC’s high-quality programming typically drew 70+ members to each meeting to discuss topics for law firms and other professional services firms including best practices in:
- Business development
- Communications and PR
- Professional development
Although LPSC came to an end in 2021, its impact on the legal marketing community remains strong.
Through various events, networking programs and mentorship, LPSC raised the bar in the Chicago community and beyond, empowering both teams and individuals to excel in legal marketing.
