Sally Kane is a legal marketing professional and former lawyer with 15 years of experience in business development, content strategy and legal marketing. She collaborates with attorneys on a broad range of marketing initiatives, including content development, event planning, website redesign, social media strategy, directory submissions and thought leadership. She is also passionate about business development coaching, content strategy, campaign development, strategic planning and digital marketing. A results-oriented leader, she has a proven record of driving business results for law firms of all sizes.
At AmLaw 50 firm Reed Smith, Sally led the marketing and business development (M&BD) efforts of the firm’s global Insurance Recovery Group. In this role, she implemented proactive strategies to drive revenue and business growth, helping the practice achieve record financial results. Sally helped launch the firm’s M&BD professional development program and implement several AI tools that enhanced the efficiency of core marketing functions.
Earlier in her career, she served as a content director for a legal marketing agency, collaborating with stakeholders to develop content strategies that solved law firms’ business and brand challenges. She built the company’s content program from the ground up, assembling a global team, developing process and workflow frameworks and serving as a trusted advisor to clients.
Sally earned a J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law – where she served as a law review editor – and a Bachelor of Arts in English/Writing from Edinboro University.
Sally is a member of the Legal Marketing Association’s Strategy & Voices Editorial Board and a founding member of LMA’s Pittsburgh chapter.
