Grace Ko brings more than 20 years of experience in senior administrative roles at global and mid-size law firms.
Grace leads Builden’s Legal Operations service offerings, serving as a resource to managing partners and executive committees by conducting audits of clients’ administrative functions to identify and implement best practices. She advises on the hot-button issues management teams face in a post-COVID environment.
Grace also serves as the Principal Administrator at Hinkhouse Williams Walsh. For more than 10 years, she has directed firm operations and collaborated with equity partners on management and strategic decisions. As part of her oversight of firm business and finance functions, she has redesigned multiple policies and procedures, implemented new technologies and renegotiated numerous vendor contracts – including the firm’s lease and office renovation – while remaining focused on employee engagement.
Prior to this role, Grace spent 15 years at Baker McKenzie as the firm’s first Risk Manager where she managed all commercial insurance programs and claims against the firm and lead the business continuity plan’s development by working with key stakeholders in all global operational areas.
Grace has a Finance degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a member of the Association of Legal Administrators and holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certificate from the Human Resource Certificate Institute and an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) from the Insurance Institute of America.
She lives in Chicago.
